Local roles depend on community partner needs. Remote roles are available year‑round.

Ways to volunteer

Volunteers support projects only within defined roles. When specialized trades or technical work is required, it is sourced locally. Remote volunteers strengthen planning, transparency, and delivery quality.

Field support

Support local partners with logistics, documentation, and supervised implementation tasks—only where invited and appropriate.

Operations & planning

Help build scopes, budgets, milestone checklists, risk plans, and reporting templates that keep projects disciplined.

Design & storytelling

Create clear visuals, explainers, and documentary-style updates that help donors and communities track real progress.

Data & tooling

Support mapping, dashboards, project directories, and internal tools that improve transparency and oversight.

Community outreach

Recruit volunteers, host local events, coordinate partnerships, and connect skilled professionals where needed.

Fundraising support

Help sponsors and donors understand project goals, timelines, and measurable outcomes—without exaggeration.

Volunteer FAQ

Quick answers on expectations, safeguarding, and how to get involved responsibly.

Can I volunteer for a specific project?
Yes. Open the project page and use the “Volunteer for this project” section. It will guide you through project-specific roles and sends the right context.
Do volunteers travel internationally?
Not by default. Projects are designed with local leadership and prioritize local professionals. When travel is appropriate, it is structured, vetted, and role-specific.
What skills are most useful?
Operations, planning, design, writing, data, project coordination, and community outreach are consistently helpful. Field roles vary by partner needs.
How do you prevent unhelpful or unsafe volunteering?
We use defined roles, partner direction, and safeguarding expectations. Volunteers do not replace local capacity and are not placed into sensitive work without oversight.
How fast will you respond?
Our response goal is 5 business days. If you don’t hear back, email [email protected] with “Volunteer follow-up” in the subject.
I have a safeguarding concern — what should I do?
Email [email protected] with details. We take safeguarding concerns seriously and will follow up with next steps.
